Do I need to change the brake pads for 60,000 kilometers? Do I need to go to the 4s shop for the brake pads?

It is basically the time limit for the replacement of the brake pads for 60,000 kilometers. The front brake pads are replaced every 30,000-50,000 kilometers; the rear brake pads are replaced every 60,000-100,000 kilometers. Replacing the brake pads requires raising the vehicle and disassembling the tires, so it is quite laborious to replace it by yourself. If necessary, the owner still asks the 4s shop to replace the brake pads.

Process of self-replacement of brake pads:

1. Lift the car to remove the tires;

2. Remove the screws of the brake calipers, open the brake calipers, and remove the old brake pads;

3. Push the brake piston back in and install the new brake pad;

4. Reinstall the brake calipers, and tighten the caliper screws to the required torque. Do not use excessive force before reinstalling the tires.

Note that after replacing the brake pads, you need to step on the brakes several times to eliminate the gap between the shoe and the brake disc and reset the brake piston.Final checkBrake FluidIf the pump is working normally, confirm that it is correct, and the brake pads are replaced.

The four brake pads do not need to be changed together, only the coaxial ones must be changed together when changing, so that the braking force on both sides can be evened. Of course, if the front and rear brake pads have reached a certain level of wear, you can also replace the four together.

It is worth mentioning that the newly replaced brake pads may not stop during driving. This is because the surface of the brake pads is still relatively flat, and the contact surface with the brake disc is small, and the braking force will be relatively low. Therefore, the best braking effect can be achieved after a certain period of running-in.
