Argentina and Mexico have ordered a total of 100,000 vehicles directly from our Brazilian factory, 50,000 vehicles each. It would take several large ro-ro ships to pull them over in batches.

This list is not small. BYD executive Li Ke said personally at an event in Rio de Janeiro a few days ago that the Camassari plant in Brazil now has an annual output of 150,000 vehicles. It is planned to gradually expand to 600,000 vehicles. As soon as the order comes in, the factory immediately gets busy.

Think about it, Mexico was already BYD's overseas sales champion last year, exporting more than 130,000 vehicles; Argentina, although a late start, ranked first in pure electric brand sales in just a few months, and now it has placed a large order. South America is getting really hot.

Why is South America suddenly so popular? To put it bluntly, local car manufacturing + policy sweetness double buff blessing. After the Brazilian factory is put into production, local production can directly avoid the 35% import tariff, and the cost can be reduced by more than 20%. It can also respond to customer needs faster.

Both Mexico and Argentina have tariff reductions and subsidies for new energy vehicles. Argentina even gives 50,000 new energy vehicles import quotas tax-free. Is BYD's product price competitiveness instantly enhanced? Who doesn’t love something cheap and easy to use?

Looking at user tastes, BYD has captured it very accurately. Mexico is a large country and even before charging piles are available, BYD has been aggressively promoting plug-in hybrid vehicles. Last year, plug-in hybrid sales accounted for more than 60% of local sales. It perfectly cures users’ mileage anxiety.

Pure electric vehicles are more popular in Argentina. Cars such as Dolphin Mini and Yuan Plus became popular as soon as they were launched. Last year's market share directly led the market segment. This approach of adapting measures to local conditions has allowed BYD to gain a foothold in several countries in South America.

Everyone estimates that as the production capacity of Brazilian factories continues to increase, coupled with the support of large orders from Argentina and Mexico. It is not a dream for BYD to sell more than 300,000 vehicles in South America in 2026.

South America is no longer a dispensable peripheral land, but a real core growth point in BYD's globalization. Of course, there are difficulties.

South American infrastructure must slowly catch up, and the localization of the supply chain must also be accelerated. 50% of parts and components must be locally supplied by 2027. This requires continuing to spend money.

But having said that, BYD's layout in South America has taken China's new energy vehicles from simply selling products. Moving towards exporting the entire ecosystem.
