IT Home reported on May 8 that IT Home learned from the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicly solicited opinions on the mandatory national standard formulation and revision plan project of the "Technical Requirements for Safety of Automobile Door Handles".

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that according to the overall arrangement of standardization work, the mandatory national standard revision plan project of the "Healthy Door Handle Safety Technical Requirements" applied for the project will be announced, with the deadline being June 7, 2025. If you have different opinions on the proposed standard project, please fill in the "Standard Project Feedback Form" during the public announcement period and feedback it to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and send an email to [email protected] (the subject of the email is indicated: Feedback for the public announcement of mandatory national standard project).

The mandatory national standard project proposal for "Technical Requirements for Safety of Automobile Door Handles" shows that the purpose and significance of this solicitation of opinions is that in recent years, with the rapid development of electrification and intelligence of automobiles, hidden door handles have been widely used with their advantages such as aesthetics and strong sense of technology. The door handle products on the market show a trend of working principle and diversified form. During the market application process, the following problems are exposed: insufficient strength, potential safety risks of control logic, difficulty in identification and operation (hidden and unmarked), power failure, clamping hands, etc., potential escape and rescue risks. The above problems bring potential escape and rescue risks. For example, during collisions, fires and other accidents, power outages are caused, resulting in failure of electric external door handles and electric door inner handles, increasing the obstacles to rescue and escape; there are no obvious and unified signs, increasing the difficulty of operation in emergencies.
From the perspective of rescue and escape, strengthen the safety logic of car door handles in accident scenarios such as collisions and vehicle fires, and add safety redundant design requirements such as mechanical or power outage protection to ensure that the door system can be opened in accidents such as power outages and collisions, so as to carry out rescue and escape activities; ensure that the door handles are prevented in rolling and falling accidents, thereby reducing the risk of occupants falling; standardize the safety signs that are easy to identify in hidden door handles and emergency door handles to ensure the visibility of signs, thereby reducing the difficulty of occupants' escape in emergencies; ensure the structural strength of the door handles, and prevent the loss of the function of the rear door lock control mechanism.
This document stipulates the installation requirements for the internal handle of the emergency door of the automobile, the logo requirements for the internal handle of the hidden door and the internal handle of the emergency door, the anti-clip requirements and test methods for the external handle of the electric door, the strength requirements and test methods for the external handle of the door and the internal handle of the door, and the dynamic test requirements and test methods for the electric door handle. This document applies to door handles for Class M1, N1 cars and multi-purpose trucks, and door handles for other vehicles shall be implemented with reference.
There are currently no standards related to this standard abroad. The domestic standards related to automobile door handles include QC/T 988-2014 "Automotive car outer door handle" and QCT1211-2024 "Passive car door inner door handle assembly", which have technical requirements for the durability, strength, high and low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. of the door handle. However, with the application of electric and hidden door handles, there is no standard for technical requirements for its layout, logo, safety functions, and structural strength.
