The 2025 Infiniti QX60 is available in four trims or "levels": Pure, Luxe, Sensory and Autograph. All models come with the new VC-Turbo engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard on all models, except for the top-tier Autograph, which comes with only all-wheel drive (all-wheel drive). However, you can spend $2,000 to add AWD to the other three levels. Prices range from around $50,000 for Pure FWD to around $60,000 for Autograph equipped with standard AWD.

For this 2025 QX60 review, Infiniti offers a test car equipped with Luxe trim and the following options:
All-wheel drive
Black Edition Appearance Kit
Harbor Gray Quality Exterior Paint
Carpeted floor mats
The test car costs $62,745, which includes a $1,350 destination fee for shipping a crossover SUV from the Infiniti Assembly Plant in Smyrna, Tennessee to a local dealership.
Black version of the appearance kit adds charm

Previously, this was the responsibility of a professional automotive aftermarket company, but now almost every automaker selling cars in the United States offers at least one "all-black" model that comes out of the factory. The all-black treatment removes chrome whenever possible and replaces it with black wheels, trims, badges and logos (both inside and outside).
The 2025 QX60 has added the Dark Side and launched a black version of the package, a move that will surely make Darth Vader happy. The QX60 Black Edition is available on the luxury class only and comes with glossy black 20-inch wheels, grille surround, roof rails and exterior badges. It also includes unique lighting elements such as welcome lights, glowing Infiniti grille badges and glowing baseboards. The black canopy perfects the interior and exterior.
The QX60 Black Edition is available in three exterior colors: Ore Black, Stately White and Harbour Gray, the latter is a new 2025 model, as my test car shows.
Overall, I like the black look, even if it seems to have penetrated into every industry sector and lose some uniqueness. Today, you can see it in sedans, pickups, SUVs, luxury cars and even minivans. But on the QX60, the black treatment looks great. I especially like the wheel design; the glossy black trim and trim pieces complement the Harbor Gray paint. My only complaint is that the black canopy makes the interior a little darker.
Bose Performance series sound effects are mixed

My test car comes with a 17-speaker Bose Performance Series sound system, which is the new standard for the 2025 QX60 Luxe class. While not meeting the performance standards of some of the premium sound systems I've tried on other luxury SUVs, the Bose system in the QX60 is significantly better than the standard Infiniti brand system in the base model, which has only 9 speakers and lacks Centerpoint surround sound technology for the Bose system.
However, this is not all good news. While the peak volume and overall sound clarity of the Bose system in the QX60 are commendable, I am a little disappointed with the lack of the low-end impact that a high-end system deserves. To be sure, I don't want to shake the building's windows while passing by, but a little more bass (perhaps the credit of a dedicated subwoofer) will not only take the system to the next level, but also satisfy buyers who only focus on bass (not on treble).
Additionally, all versions of the 2025 QX60 come with new keychains that sense when you approach or leave the vehicle, thereby automatically unlocking or locking the SUV. If this makes you uncomfortable, you can turn off the feature.
New four-cylinder VC-Turbo engine replaces V6 engine

While the new Black Edition exterior package and Luxe interior Bose audio system upgrades are eye-catching, the most notable change to the 2025 QX60 is the transition to a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The VC-Turbo engine was first used in the 2019 Infiniti QX50 and is now standard on every QX60 and replaces the V6 on the 2024 model.
While it is normal for the automotive industry to move from a fuel-efficient V6 to a more fuel-efficient turbocharged four-cylinder, the VC-Turbo’s trick is that it can change the compression ratio and piston stroke length depending on the situation to maximize fuel savings or provide more power. This is different from conventional engines with fixed compression ratios. When using the VC-Turbo, the engine shortens the stroke if more power is needed. In contrast, under light loads, the stroke is extended to reduce the speed, thus reducing fuel consumption.
How powerful is the new VC-Turbo compared to the old V6? A bit mixed. The 2024 QX60 has a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a fixed 11.0:1 compression ratio of 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-liter VC-Turbo has a maximum output of 268 horsepower and 286 lb-ft of torque, and the compression ratio ranges from 8.0:1 (maximum efficiency) to 14.0:1 (maximum power). In other cases where conditions are equal, the extra torque of the VC-Turbo should be able to translate into faster acceleration. The QX60's maximum traction remains stable at 6,000 pounds.
You might ask, how economics are for fuel? According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the 2025 QX60 with VC-Turbo and FWD or AWD has a combined fuel consumption of 24 mpg. The 2024 model with V6 and FWD has a combined fuel consumption of 23 mpg, while the AWD version has a combined fuel consumption of 22 mpg. While on the surface a mile or two doesn’t seem like a lot, VC-Turbo clearly wins by counting fuel savings over 10 years. But is the EPA's estimate realistic in actual driving? Please continue reading to find out.
How does it feel to drive the 2025 Infiniti QX60?

With a completely different engine under the hood, you might think the driving characteristics of the 2025 QX60 will be quite different from the 2024 model. You are wrong. While there are nominal differences in horsepower and torque, everything else is the same: propagation, drive system, pause, steering, etc. Despite the addition of 16 pound-feet of torque, in short, the 2025 QX60 with a VC-Turbo engine has a very similar driving experience to the 2024 QX60 with a V6 engine.
In my opinion, the VC-Turbo won't significantly change the driving characteristics of the QX60, which is an advantage, as the off-road vehicle still provides plenty of acceleration, smooth driving, good handling and excellent braking. Of course, the engine noise and harshness will be a bit loud when the throttle is fully opened, but it is no worse than the V6. The steering is lightweight, but you are undoubtedly driving a long and tall three-row SUV that weighs nearly 4,700 pounds. Therefore, the SUV rolls a lot during sharp turns.
The only real disappointment in driving the QX60, though, is fuel economy. According to the EPA, the fuel consumption of the 2025 QX60 AWD should be 22/27/24 mpg (city/highway/comprehensive). In my test, I was mainly driving on ground streets, and for the sake of security, I also added a little interstate driving, and the driving computer showed fuel consumption of 22.1 mpg. While this reflects the EPA’s urban fuel consumption rating, I expect to be a little higher because I’m not completely limiting my travel to suburbs. If you are mainly driving on an interstate, highway or highway, your fuel economy will be significantly improved.
Independent Expert Opinions

The Infiniti QX60 is a luxurious mid-size three-row crossover SUV with excellent performance. It has a charming styling (the Luxe class with the black version package is particularly striking), high-quality interior, comfortable front seats and reliable driving power – all available at a reasonable price. Nevertheless, despite being equipped with a new VC-Turbo engine with a technologically advanced technology, its fuel economy is slightly disappointing.
Most other companies in this segment – Acura MDX, Buick Encore, Lexus TX, Mazda CX-90, and Volvo XC90 – have excellent style, size or driving dynamics. Nevertheless, the QX60 has a luxury logo for value for money and offers a spacious cabin, excellent visibility, reliable driving dynamics, and a range of user-friendly standard driving assistance technologies. For some buyers, this is enough.
