My BMW 3.25 started burning engine oil at 70,000 kilometers, and the consumption reached 3,000 kilometers per liter. This is far lower than my expectations - the consumption caused by valve oil seal and valve cover aging after 100,000 kilometers is acceptable, and 70,000 kilometers is so serious, I am really unwilling to accept it.

My BMW 3.25 started burning engine oil at 70,000 kilometers, and the consumption reached 3,000 kilometers per liter. This is far lower than my expectations - the consumption caused by valve oil seal and valve cover aging after 100,000 kilometers is acceptable, and 70,000 kilometers is so serious, I am really unwilling to accept it.

Comprehensive investigation

System inspection was conducted at the repair shop:

1. Test the negative pressure is normal.

2. The throttle valve has no oil stains.

3. The cylinder pressure is normal.

4. The cylinder wall is not worn.

5. When cold the car, check the back of the valve is dry and oil-free through a manifold endoscopy.

Therefore, common problems of valve oil seal and valve cover exhaust valve are eliminated. The only abnormality is that the carbon deposits in the cylinder are thick (but I insist on using PEA additives every 3000 kilometers). In the end, the master speculated that the piston ring was stuck and caused the engine oil to burn (it was impossible to check directly), and it was recommended to remove the engine and repair it. I can't accept the overhaul after only 70,000 kilometers!

Find a way out

I have been maintaining it on time and even in advance (5,000 kilometers of oil changes and filter elements), and I insist on using additives to clean the carbon deposits, but I still burn the engine oil and the piston ring is stuck? When I was full of questions, I accidentally saw a car owner solve the problem of piston ring through a product called PNF without disassembly.

Try decisively

With a try-and-see attitude, I consulted the customer service of Siyoupu flagship store (the cost of trial and error is far lower than the risk of overhaul). At that time, the car had already been 80,000 kilometers and the burning of engine oil intensified to 1,500 kilometers per liter! According to the car conditions, 4 sets of 12 fuel models and 1 engine oil model repair agent (13 pieces in total).

Repair process

Initial mileage: 83,040 km:

1. Add 1 oil repairing agent to the old engine oil.

2. Add 3 fuel type repair agents and fill the fuel tank.

After driving about 570 kilometers (mileage of 83617):

*The carbon deposits in the cylinder are almost completely removed! The metal on the top of the piston is obviously reflected.

*The fuel injector is as clean as new.

* During this period, the oil consumption was significantly reduced: one liter was required to add 1,500 kilometers before; only about one-sixth of the liter was consumed for more than 500 kilometers (estimated).

* Improved driving experience: the throttle is lighter and smoother (similar to new cars), and the noise is reduced by rapid acceleration.

Although the repairman was surprised, he also recognized the effect: "Continuing to use with this efficiency should be able to achieve an ideal state of 5,000+ kilometers without additional engine oil."

Experience summary and suggestions

1. Check first and then deal with it: There are many reasons for burning oil in BMW cars (such as valve oil seal, valve chamber cover/exhaust valve, chain tensioner failure, etc.). Be sure to check the reasons for the lockdown like me first (the cost is not high but it can avoid detours).

2. The piston ring is focused on the piston ring when a car with a age of tens of thousands of kilometers: If there are slight stretch marks on the cylinder wall and the engine oil is still burned after other factors are eliminated, it is likely that the piston ring will be stuck, resulting in impurity in the scraping of oil or blockage of the oil return hole. Replacing other parts before their lifetime may not be effective!

3. Safety first: If it is confirmed that the piston ring problem needs to be solved, static methods such as "bubble cylinder" and "disc shaft" are highly risky and easy to corrode the engine! The safest and most effective way to use the engine's own working conditions to clean and release it during driving.
