Volvo s60 transmission oil replacement process

There are oil drain screw and oil oil screw on the rear axle of Volvo s60 gearbox. Prepare relevant tools before maintenance, drive the car to a special car stand, and erect the car in a suitable space for construction.

Precautions: Car maintenance should be carried out after the driving distance of 20,000 kilometers in normal use, and the capacity of each transmission oil change should be 3L. To replace the tank oil on the rear axle of the car gearbox, first remove the two oil drain screws and drain the oil, and then install the screws after draining the oil. Start to refuel, and install the screws after refueling.

The detailed replacement process is as follows:

1. Put a large container under the car to drain the oil and use a suitable screwdriver to remove the gearbox casing. Please note that oil will flow out during the disassembly of the gearbox, and use a large container to catch the oil.

2. After the transmission oil has partially drained, remove the last used oil sump. Be careful to hold it with your hands, because there is a lot of waste oil left. When picking up the parts, you will see that there are many stains remaining on the bottom of the oil tank.

3. Pay attention to remove the current transmission oil filter, and you will clearly see the solenoid valve used to control gear shifting.

4. Take off the oil bottom gasket and remove the surrounding stains. If the gap cleaning cloth is clean, you can use other tools to clean it. Because the maintenance time is too long, the rubber on the oil gasket sticks to the edge of the machine and is not easy to clean. If necessary, use a small scraper to clean it, and spray some carburetor cleaner at the same time to save labor and clean it more thoroughly.

5. Wipe all the cleaned transmission oil filter units with cotton, and install them one by one.

6. Special attention: the filter is normally used for one-time use, and the filter and oil gasket are changed at the same time when the oil is maintained.

7. 6. Wipe the surface of the replacement parts clean, without water and oil stains, otherwise it will easily lead to oil leakage; install the clean oil tank and oil gasket together, and pay attention to the tight fit to avoid oil leakage.

8. Clean the oil filter housing and wipe it clean for installation, fix two diagonal corners first and then tighten them all.

9. 7. Inject the original oil and observe the oil hole to test whether the oil is full. If it is full, it will overflow from the oil hole. If non-original oil is added, it will react with the original residual oil and damage the gearbox. Not high-quality oil is suitable for any model, and high-quality oil is not necessarily better than original oil.
