How does an engine spark plug work

The electric plate of the spark plug ignites through repeated and continuous ignition, igniting the mixture in the cylinder. At this point, the rest of the ignition system generates the timed electrical pulses that create the sparks and generate the energy needed to explode and boost the engine's power output.

　　

Different spark plugs have different service life. For example, ordinary alloy spark plugs need to be replaced every 30,000 kilometers, which are common in low-end models. Iridium spark plugs are widely used and have relatively strong stability. They are often used in mid-to-high-end cars. They are called enhanced spark plugs. They are generally replaced every 60,000 kilometers. Platinum spark plugs have a longer life than iridium spark plugs, generally 80,000 kilometers. Replace it once or even longer, but the performance is more similar to iridium. There is also a higher-end spark plug, iridium platinum spark plug, which can last up to 100,000 kilometers, but it is not widely used. There are generally two situations for spark plugs. One is severe ablation of the spark plug. When the owner finds scars on the top of the spark plug or melting and ablation of the damaged electrode, it means that the spark plug has been damaged and needs to be replaced in time. The other is that the spark plug has deposits and needs to be replaced.
