Any vehicle is equipped with an intake air temperature sensor. Its main function is to detect the intake air temperature of the engine, and convert the intake air temperature into an electrical signal and input it to the ECU as a signal for fuel injection correction.

Working principle of automobile intake air temperature sensor

In fact, the working principle of the car's intake air temperature sensor is very similar to that of the water temperature sensor. The intake air temperature sensor is also a thermistor with a negative temperature coefficient, that is, it can be felt very sensitively. When the temperature rises, its resistance decreases, but when the temperature decreases, the resistance increases, and the voltage changes with the change of resistance in the circuit, thus generating signals of different voltages.

Most intake air temperature sensors are basically installed on the intake pipe or in the air flow meter. Therefore, when the owner's car has difficulty starting, unstable idling speed, or even the exhaust displacement exceeds the original several times, it is necessary to consider whether the intake air temperature sensor in the car is damaged.
