Why the car battery won’t hold power

The car battery cannot store electricity, usually due to the battery loss, the battery reaching the end of its service life, the generator damage, the lack of battery electrolyte and other reasons.

1. The battery has lost power. Due to the unique discharge nature of the battery, even if the car stops, the battery will still discharge. In addition, when the car alarm settings are set, there will be increased power consumption. Some car owners' cars are equipped with anti-theft systems, and it is also prone to a large amount of battery power consumption, which cannot store electricity.

2. The battery has reached the end of its service life. Most private cars use maintenance-free batteries, and the owner can check the electric eye above the battery. If the sensor is black, the battery is low and needs to be charged. If the color of the battery is green, the battery is normal. If it is white, the battery has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced.

3. The generator is damaged. If the belt of the car engine breaks, the generator will not work properly, and the battery will have no power. In the generator, there is also a rectifier. If there is an instantaneous high current passing through, the rectifier cannot withstand the instantaneous high current and will be burned. There are also carbon brushes in the generator. If the carbon brushes are worn too much, the carbon brushes will not work properly. At the same time, poor contact or line breakage inside the generator will also cause the battery to lose power.

4. Lack of battery electrolyte. In car batteries, there is an electrolyte, which will decrease as the usage time increases. When the amount of electrolyte is relatively small, it will not be able to support the normal operation of the battery, so the battery will not be able to store electricity.
