Although the maintenance-free battery does not need to add liquid during the service life due to its own structural advantages. But what we call maintenance-free is not really maintenance-free, but compared to ordinary batteries, there is no need to worry about maintenance. If there is a real shortage of water, it will definitely need to be replenished. So, what are the filling steps of the battery fluid, and how to open the cover of the maintenance-free battery.

Steps for filling battery fluid:

1. First use a flat-blade screwdriver to pry off the protective plate of the battery, and then unscrew the plastic cover on the battery.

2. Then use the drip tube to directly add distilled water until the liquid level is in the middle of the upper and lower graduation lines. Of course, it is not a problem to fill it up.

However, there are some maintenance-free batteries on the market that have been filled with the corresponding electrolyte and sealed up when leaving the factory, and users cannot add refills at all.

It is worth mentioning that the battery should be fully charged (not discharged) before adding water. Why? It is because when the battery is out of power, the electrolyte level will be much lower than normal. If it is just saturated when the battery is out of power, it will definitely overflow a lot when the battery is charged. So this can explain why the discharge treatment should be carried out before adding water. As for how to fully charge it, we can use common battery chargers on the market to charge, and when fully charged, we can add water.
