Generally, new batteries are charged when they leave the factory, but they are not very full, so they need to be charged.. However, it can also be used directly without charging. However, if a new battery has been produced for a period of time, the battery will naturally discharge. Even if it is not used, it will run out after a long time, and the battery may be insufficient. At this time, it needs to be charged.
For dry-charged lead-acid batteries, according to the instruction manual, they should be stored for no more than two years. You only need to add the electrolyte of the specified density and leave it for 15 minutes during use. It can be used without charging. However, if it is stored for more than two years, since the plate will be oxidized, in order to increase its charge capacity, it should be recharged before use, and then used after charging for 5-8 hours.
The first charge of the battery has a great influence on the service life and charge capacity of the battery. If the charge is insufficient, the battery charge capacity is not high, which will reduce the service life; but if the charge is overcharged, Although the electrical performance of the battery will be better, but it will also shorten the service life, so the new battery should master the time of the first charge. Generally speaking, the cell voltage rises to 2.3-2.4V until the electrolyte is bubbled for the first time. Then reduce the charging current by half, and continue charging until the electrolyte bubbling, and the measured voltage is stable for 3 consecutive hours.
