Actually, the battery cannot be charged immediately after adding water (distilled water or pure water). It needs to stand still for 1-2 hours to charge. Why do you say that. Because just after adding water, it needs to be completely integrated with the original battery fluid (dilute sulfuric acid), so that the quality of battery charging can be guaranteed. Of course, for some new batteries plus stock solution, it can be charged immediately, after all, the solution inside does not need to be fused.
Precautions for charging the battery after adding water
1. When we remove the positive and negative poles, we must follow the order of "negative pole first and positive pole" (reverse to the installation order). Because after connecting the negative electrode, it is equivalent to forming a loop for the car. If the positive electrode is connected last, then when the screw is fixed, if the wrench (with conductivity) accidentally touches the car metal by mistake, it is equivalent to connecting the positive and negative electrodes of the battery together. Not only will it cause a short circuit in the car battery, it may also cause "fire" in serious cases.
2. It is best not to overcharge the battery. Although the current generated by charging is not very large, because the electrolyte is in a boiling state for a long time, not only the fine particles on the surface of the active material are easy to fall off, but also the grid will appear in serious cases. Oxidation causes loose peeling of the active material from the grid.
