Isuzu (ISUZU)

The trademark used by Isuzu (ISUZU) has changed twice. The earliest trademark is the name of Isuzu taken from Ise (place name) in Japan. The pattern symbolizes that the waves of the Isuzu River are rolling forward and the company develops infinitely. In 1974, the new double-pillar trademark was used, and the left pillar in the trademark pattern symbolizes Looking at Isuzu, which is advancing side by side with users, the pillar on the right symbolizes Isuzu, which is developing in cooperation with countries all over the world. Every time I see Isuzu’s new double-column-shaped trademark, I think of the Chinese proverb, "Optical White Jade Pillar, Frame Sea Purple Golden Beam", which seems to be a trademark designed for Chinese users.

The predecessor of Isuzu Motors Corporation was the Tokyo Ishikawa Island Shipyard, which was established in 1916 in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. In 1922, the A9 sedan was produced; in 1933, the company merged with Da Chi Automobile Company. In 1937, the company merged with Tokyo Gas & Electric Power Co., Ltd. and Kyoto Domestic Corporation to form Tokyo Motor Industry Co., Ltd.; in 1949, it was renamed Isuzu Motors Corporation. The company produces a wide variety of vehicles and is a major manufacturer of heavy and light trucks. The cars produced are the Gemini brand and the Royal Horse brand.
