BMW1 seriesHow to clean your car throttle valve:
First, if there is a plastic heat shield cover on the engine, it needs to be removed first.
After removing the engine hood, we can usually see the throttle valve. There are some air pipes connected around the throttle. We need to remove these pipes and note the location of each pipe clearly.
After removing the air pipe on the throttle valve, we can remove the entire throttle valve.TiidaThe throttle valve is fixed to the engine block with 4 bolts and we can quickly remove it using appropriate tools.
The side of the throttle close to the combustion chamber is generally dirty. There are traces of black carbon deposits, which is the main part we need to clean.
Cleaning the throttle is mainly to remove the carbon deposits on it. We can use special throttle cleaning fluid or cleaning agent. It should be noted here that the cleaning principle of this type of cleaning agent is to dissolve carbon deposits, and its ingredients are more harmful to the human body. It is best to wear gloves and a mask when cleaning.
Spray the cleaner onto the throttle valve where there is a lot of carbon deposits and wait for it to dissolve the carbon deposits, which should take about 5-10 minutes. Using a brush can speed up the removal of carbon deposits.
When we see that the stains on the throttle have been completely dissolved, we can use a clean towel to wipe the cleaner inside the throttle. The picture above shows the back of the throttle valve that is clean and there are no traces of carbon deposits at all.
