“Korean trend 1568” Kia sold 274,000 vehicles worldwide in April, a year-on-year increase of 5%!

Kia announced that it sold a total of 274,437 vehicles in the global market in April 2025 (based on wholesale sales), an increase of 5.0% compared with the same period last year. Among them, the sales volume in South Korea was 51,005 units, overseas sales volume was 223,113 units, and special vehicles were 319 units.

The sales performance this time increased by 7.4% in the domestic market in South Korea and 4.6% in the overseas market. It maintained a balanced growth trend in both domestic sales and exports, which attracted much attention.

■ The world's best-selling model is "Shibotuojie"

In terms of model, Shibotuo has become the world's highest-selling model with sales of 47,737 vehicles. The second is Seltos, with sales of 25,543 units and the Sorento sales of 23,855 units. In particular, Shibotuojie has sold 6,703 vehicles in Korea and 41,034 vehicles overseas, and has gained widespread popularity worldwide.

■ Korean domestic market: RV sales drive growth

In the domestic market in South Korea, it increased by 7.4% compared with the same month last year, with 51,005 units sold.

Specifically, passenger cars were sold (including 3,581 K5, 4,262 Ray, 2,566 K8, etc.), SUVs were sold (8,796 Sorento, 7,592 Carnival, 6,703 Shibo, 5,101 Sales, 3,057 EV3, etc.), and commercial vehicles were sold (including 3,303 Bongo III).

The SV sector accounts for about 69% of Korea's total domestic sales, which is considered to be the main force driving Kia's domestic sales growth in South Korea.

■ Overseas market: Mainly based on SUVs, continue to grow

In overseas markets, 223,113 units were sold, a 4.6% increase in performance compared with the same month last year.

The most popular models overseas are Shibotuojie (41,034 units), Saitus (24,442 units), and K3/K4 (16,666 units). In strategic markets such as the United States, Europe, and India, the SUV-based lineup has formed stable demand, which has played a key role.

■ Special vehicle sales and future strategies

Special vehicles were sold in Korea and 239 overseas, totaling 319 units.
