Replacement and installation of drum brake pads
1. Remove the rear brake drum
The brake drum can be seen by removing the tire. Hit the surface of the brake drum with a hammer, and the drum can be taken off after vibrating it loose.
2. Remove the return spring
Insert the opening into the gap of the spring, and lift it up to remove the return spring. If you want to replace the brake pad, this spring must be removed.
3. Remove the fixed screw
Use pliers to remove the screw fixing the brake pads. There are two front and rear brake pads on one wheel, and there are also two fixing screws.
4. Remove the front and rear brake pads
After the above steps are completed, the brake pads will automatically fall off the brake. At this time, just take off the brake pads.
5. Install new brake pads
Remove the positioning pins from the old brake pads and install them on the new brake pads. After the two sides are assembled, it can be installed on the brake, or the front and rear brake pads can be installed separately in sequence.
6. Adjust the height of the handbrake
After the brake pads are installed, you need to adjust the height of the handbrake. Pull out the ratchet of the self-adjusting device with the opening to lower the handbrake. Pulling up the handbrake has a better braking effect, but it should not be adjusted too tightly. Install a new brake drum. When debugging, just feel the resistance.
7. Install the brake drum
After the brake pads are installed and checked, you can install a new brake drum, and then install the tires to complete the entire operation.
