The amount of gearbox oil added depends on the model and the method of replacement. Generally, 4-6 liters of oil is required for manual oil change, and about 9-12 liters for oil change with an oil changer. Transmission oil is divided into automatic transmission oil and manual transmission oil. Automatic transmission oil is changed every two years or about 60,000 to 80,000 kilometers, and manual transmission oil is changed every three years or about 80,000 to 100,000 kilometers.

When replacing the gearbox oil, you need to drain the old oil. You can unscrew the oil drain screw at the bottom of the gearbox. The old oil will drain with gravity. Due to the internal structure of the gearbox, only about 70% of the oil can be drained. Used oil has a low oil change rate. However, automatic gearboxes have relatively high requirements for gearbox oil. It is recommended to use a circulating machine to change the oil. The oil change rate is high, and the old oil can basically be replaced. When the old oil is drained, new oil needs to be filled. What happens if you accidentally add more oil when filling?

Symptoms of increased gearbox oil

1. If the gearbox oil is added too much, more air will enter the gearbox, causing air blockage in the oil drain hole on the control valve, resulting in poor oil drain and shift shock;

2. If the gearbox oil is added too much, the liquid level will be too high. When the car is driving, it is easy to contact the rotating parts. When the rotating parts agitate the oil, bubbles will appear. After the oil with bubbles enters the oil pump, the oil pressure will not be low. Normal, and affect the lubrication effect;

3. If the gearbox oil is added too much, the resistance of the gear rotation will increase, which will affect the transmission efficiency of the gearbox and reduce the heat dissipation function.

Refueling needs a proper amount. You can't add more or less. You can check the liquid level through the transmission dipstick, and the liquid level can be a little higher in the middle.
