How to remove the spark plug, how to take it out if the spark plug is broken

Since the service life of the spark plug is generally about 100,000 kilometers, it does not need to be replaced frequently. But because the spark plug goes deep into the cylinder to play a role, it is bound to endure huge pressure and temperature. According to experiments, the pressure when the mixture is ignited can go to 5000 kPa, and the temperature can be as high as 2000 degrees. Therefore, even if it is not frequently replaced, it should be checked regularly.

How to remove the spark plug for inspection is actually very simple. First, prepare these tools: 10mm, 14mm, 16mm sockets, long extension rods, ratchet wrenches, magnets, rags, etc.

Spark plug removal steps:

1. After the engine is completely cooled, unplug the plug of the high-voltage package, and then use a 10mm sleeve to remove the fixing bolts. After removing the high-voltage package, you can see the spark plug in the cylinder;

2. According to the size of the spark plug nut, choose a 14mm or 16mm sleeve with the long post to rotate counterclockwise to loosen it. After loosening, use a magnet to suck out the spark plug;

3. After taking out the spark plug, if you do not install a new spark plug in time, insert the high-voltage package back or plug the hole of the spark plug with a rag to prevent dirt from falling in;

4. Use a magnetic rod to attract the new spark plug and insert it into the hole, and then reinstall it according to the above reverse steps. The torque of the upper spark plug should not be too large, about 20N·m;

5. Start the engine after replacing all the spark plugs and see if any spark plugs are not working properly.

When disassembling the spark plug, it may happen that the spark plug is disassembled. When disassembling the spark plug, the white ceramic insulator is basically unscrewed, but the head of the spark plug is still stuck there. How to take out the spark plug when it is broken is a very technical matter. If you do not have experience in this area, it is best not to try it lightly. There are three ways to take out the spark plug if it is broken:

1. Welding method

Weld a slender iron bolt on the broken spark plug head by welding, and then remove the broken spark plug.This method usually requires welding many times tosuccess, And the difficulty is relatively large;

2. Reverse thread tool

Because spark plugs are disconnected more frequently, there are many places outside selling special reverse thread tools for spark plugs. Use a counter-thread tool to tap the thread inside the broken spark plug head, and then turn the tool to take out the broken head. When tapping the thread, the thin iron wire will fall into the cylinder. After removing the broken end, use a magnetic rod to suck it up as much as possible;

3. Violent smash

Use a long, moderately sized knife to get stuck on the broken head, force the broken head to smash it into the cylinder, and then use a magnet to suck out the broken spark plug. This method will not only damage the threads on the cylinder, but also damage the engine due to unclean debris, so this method is not recommended.
