A few days ago, a friend suddenly called Nianhan and asked me if the 2024 Infiniti QX50 (inquiry | pictures | parameters) is good? When I heard about it, I was a little surprised, thinking that he was going to buy a new car. Unexpectedly, I asked the head of his department to inquire. Because this friend of mine knew that I was a car reviewer, he asked me to provide some advice to avoid buying the wrong car, which would make it difficult for him to report to his boss.

But a long time ago, a few car enthusiasts did talk about the Infiniti QX50 in the group, saying that its price-performance ratio is average, and the price is not cheap, so everyone has their own preferences.

Okay, let’s stop talking nonsense and go straight to the topic and talk about the Infiniti QX50. Here, Nianhan is still talking about new cars, that is, around the 2024 Infiniti QX50, because there are also 2022 old models on sale. Car models, based on the principle of buying new and not old, everyone knows.

Let’s start with the exterior design. The 2024 Infiniti QX50 maintains its iconic design, presenting a mature and refined aesthetic. Its polygonal grille and honeycomb grille give it a strong sporty feel, while the newly added Lava Red paint adds a unique touch of color to the vehicle.

The side and rear of the body continue the classic waistline design, with silver decoration and 20-inch wheels (255/45 R20 tire specifications), showing a posture that coexists elegance and strength.

In terms of space size, Nianhan believes that this car is relatively outstanding among models of the same level.

The body dimensions are 4705mm long, 1903mm wide, 1681mm high, and the wheelbase reaches 2798mm. However, Niu Nianhan needs to add that the four-wheel drive model is slightly shorter than the two-wheel drive model, with a height of only 1678mm. The difference is not big and can be ignored.

To be honest, such size, volume and wheelbase are enough to provide sufficient internal space, whether it is riding comfort or storage space, it can meet the needs of modern families.

The interior design is average, with not many highlights. It still continues the design layout of the old model. The upper and lower split central control screen and 7-inch instrument display create a high-tech feel.

However, some models have added interior ambient lighting and sensor-activated tailgates to enhance the luxury and convenience of the interior. This can be considered an approach of “increasing price and volume”.

In terms of technological configuration, taking the two-wheel drive pilot model as an example, it has added advanced configurations such as a 360-degree reversing camera and a sensor-activated rear tailgate compared to the previous model. Although it lacks a four-wheel drive system and some advanced safety features, overall it is still equipped with rich technology configurations that can meet most driving and riding needs.

Performance is pretty good. All 2024 Infiniti QX50s are equipped with 2.0T engines. The two-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 180 kilowatts, the four-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 192 kilowatts, and the peak torque is 380 Nm. The equipped XTRONIC CVT continuously variable transmission provides the vehicle with smooth and efficient power output, taking into account both performance and economy.

The fuel consumption performance is also good. The two-wheel drive model has a fuel consumption of 7.7L per 100 kilometers, and the four-wheel drive model has a fuel consumption of 8.2L per 100 kilometers. For urban commuting, Nianhan thinks it should not exceed 10 oils. What do you think?

As for the suspension and chassis, it goes without saying. Anyone who knows the Infiniti brand knows that it has always been known for its excellent handling and comfort. For the 2024 QX50, its suspension system provides a good balance, ensuring a comfortable experience for passengers whether it is city driving or long-distance travel.

Finally, there is the selling price. The 2024 model is currently on sale in 3 versions, 2 two-wheel drive and 1 four-wheel drive, with prices of 350,800, 359,800 and 391,800 respectively.

Compared with other competitors on the market, such as the Audi Q5L, BMW X3 and Volvo XC60, the QX50 performs well in terms of comfort, technical configuration and overall performance, winning it a place in the same level of the market.

Having said all that, Nianhan believes that the overall performance of the 2024 Infiniti QX50 is good. Whether it is appearance design, space size, interior design, technology configuration, power performance, suspension system, and reasonable pricing, it can indeed become a A mid-to-high-end SUV worth recommending.

It just lacks in advanced safety features and drive systems, and is not as good as the Audi Q5L, BMW X3 and Volvo XC60, but it is still a very competitive model on the market. As for the recommendation index, it would be three and a half stars. Do you think it’s too much or too little?
