How to judge the fault of thermostat
1. After the engine is started, we can open the filler cap of the car's cooling water tank, and then check whether the cooling water inside is flowing. If there is water flow it is fine, but if there is no flow then the thermostat is faulty. Or something is stuck at the position of the main valve switch, we can first check if there is something stuck, if not, basically it can be determined that the thermostat is faulty;
2. We can feel the temperature of the upper and lower water pipes with our hands, or we need to start the engine first, and then wait for three or four minutes before touching the water pipes. If there is no problem with the thermostat, the temperature of the upper and lower water pipes we touch should be different. Generally, the upper part is hotter and the lower part is cooler. But it should be noted that if the engine water temperature has reached 90 degrees, the upper and lower water pipes should be hot at this time.
