1. Engine oil
The lubricating requirements for automobiles are higher in winter. If summer engine oil is used, it must be replaced. For engine oil that has been used for a long time, has black color, and poor adhesion, it should be replaced to ensure smooth engine start.
2. Antifreeze
The amount of antifreeze must be appropriate. Different regions and different models should pay attention to the freezing point and type of antifreeze. The antifreeze that has been used for more than two years should be replaced, and the mixed antifreeze must be replaced every year. Be careful not to mix products of different brands and models.
3. Battery
The electrolyte in the battery should not be deficient. It is better to keep the plate submerged by 10 mm, and check the specific gravity of the electrolyte to maintain the charge level. If the battery is insufficiently charged, it is very easy to crack in the severe cold.
4. Brake system
Pay attention to whether the brake fluid is sufficient and whether the quality has deteriorated. If necessary, it should be filled or replaced in time. Pay attention to whether the brakes are weakened or drifting. Clean the piping section of the entire brake system if necessary.
5. Four wheel alignment
Ice and snow are prone to appear on the road surface in winter. At the same time, materials such as rubber, metal, and plastic harden at low temperatures, and the control system also becomes heavy accordingly. The driving feeling is weakened, and incorrect four-wheel alignment can easily affect safety.
6. Tires
Rubber becomes hard and relatively brittle in winter, which not only reduces the friction system, but is also more prone to air leakage and tire puncture than in other seasons. In winter, the inclusions in the tread pattern should be cleaned frequently, try to avoid using tires that have been repaired more than once, and replace tires with greater wear and different brands and different patterns.
7. Warm air
Check the heating pipes and fans, especially pay attention to whether the air from the defrosting outlet under the windshield is normal and whether the heat is sufficient. If there is a problem with the defrosting outlet on the windshield, driving in winter will bring many troubles and unsafe factors.
8. Glass cleaning fluid
The amount of glass cleaning fluid used in winter is obviously less than that in other seasons, but it cannot be ignored. Some people use clean water and washing water instead of cleaning fluid in other seasons where the amount is high, but those substitutes often freeze in winter, so in winter It cannot be used in the glass. Be sure to replace it with a glass cleaning fluid that is not afraid of freezing. You can also add alcohol or white wine to the water to lower the freezing point.
9. Air conditioner
The air conditioner is not used in autumn, but in winter, you must check whether the air conditioner system is clean and whether there is any clogged water. At the same time, it must be turned on for about 5 minutes a week to lubricate the parts and prevent the hose from hardening.
10. Waxing
After winter, the weather is cold and the number of times to wash the vehicle will be reduced, so waxing at the beginning of winter is the best way to maintain the car paint. In addition, the waxed car body is not easy to get wet, and it is not easy to condense into ice in winter.
11. Warm up
The temperature is low in winter, and the viscosity of the lubricating oil increases and it is difficult to flow. After starting the engine, the engine should be kept at about 1100rpm/min, and the car should be warmed up before starting. Preheating does not have to wait for the engine temperature to rise to the optimum temperature before starting, as long as the pointer of the thermometer starts to rise.
12. Start
Start softly and slowly in winter. On the one hand, this is to keep the load on the engine as small as possible when it does not reach the normal operating temperature. Good for the engine, tires and safety.
13. Shift gears
When driving in winter, you should change gears frequently. You should drive like a car in the running-in period. You must pay attention to the selection of gears and the coordination of oil and clutch. Too low or too high gears will easily cause the car to lose control. This is especially important when driving on icy and snowy roads. .
14. Braking
Winter driving brakes highlight a word "early" and a word "soft". Even when driving on a road without ice and snow, the effect of braking in winter is different from that in other seasons, and it is often a little "hard". Therefore, driving in winter The brake should be applied earlier and lightly, and it is better to combine with downshift braking. On ice and snow roads, try not to step on the brakes, but use downshifts to brake the engine. The hand brake can also be used if necessary, but the release button of the hand brake should be pressed to prevent the hand brake from getting stuck. Don't forget that before going on the road and when you stop for a rest and then go on the road, you must try to step on the brake a few times to avoid the brake failure caused by ice.
15. Parking
When parking in winter, pay attention to the choice of location, and try to avoid potholes and wet places, so as not to freeze the wheels with accumulated water. In addition, when there is ice and snow, you should choose to park on flat ground, and it is not advisable to park on slopes to avoid difficulties in starting. Avoid places with dead grass and fallen leaves.
