1. What should I do before changing a tire?

③Inspection tools

At the same time, you also need to confirm again that the vehicle has been stopped and turned off, the gear has been shifted to P (neutral for manual models), and the handbrake has been tightened to ensure that the vehicle will not cause an accident during the tire change process.

2. Tire changing process
①Remove the tire
When removing the tire, do not immediately jack up the car. You must first use the screw rocker to loosen the screws on the wheel one by one. When loosening these bolts, use the diagonal method of loosening one by one. This is In order to prevent the fasteners from being deformed due to uneven stress.
Note:When removing the wheel screws, pay attention to the direction of force: counterclockwise to loosen; clockwise to tighten.

Remember that the screw rocker arm must be aligned and stuck in the position of the screw, otherwise it will easily slip and damage the tool if you apply force all over the body. Some models are also equipped with anti-theft bolts. At this time, the special anti-theft bolt sleeves provided by the original vehicle must be put on so that they can be caught by the wrench. The bolts only need to be loosened a little, and do not unscrew all the bolts.
②Use of jack
After all the bolts are loosened, the vehicle can be raised (note: just loosen them before raising the vehicle). Before raising the vehicle, you must first find the right position for jack support. Since the frame support points of each car are different, most car manufacturers usually mark the corresponding body positions to make it easier for everyone to find. If If you can't find it, you have to climb down and touch it. (The search criterion is: find the most rigid body connection component)
Pay attention when using the jack: Generally speaking, there are slots corresponding to the jack on both sides of the car bottom. Be careful to place the jack in the slot to avoid accidents.
Do not use the jack to raise the car body too fast to avoid the danger of the vehicle slipping off the jack due to unstable support. Prop the car body until the tire is off the ground, leaving about a finger's worth of space where you can loosen and remove all the bolts. Don't raise it too high at any time to avoid trouble when installing the tire later.
③Install spare tire
The most difficult part of installing the spare tire is to align the spare tire with the wheel fixing bolt holes. It is best to have another person help. If you are doing it alone, it is recommended to use your legs or feet to hold the spare tire to prevent displacement, and then tighten the bolts slightly diagonally. Tighten.
Note that when equipping a tire, do not tighten one screw in one go. Instead, tighten it in turn in diagonal order. When tightening the screws, it is best to keep the same number of turns for each screw to ensure that the screws are evenly stressed. .
The rules for tightening the screws are exactly the opposite of removing them, just pre-tighten them before loosening the jack. After loosening the jack, tighten it vigorously.
Finally, don’t forget that if the vehicle’s spare tire is not a full-size spare tire, but only a temporary spare tire, you should find the nearest repair point or tire shop as soon as possible to replace the regular tire.
