What’s wrong with the oil in the spark plug

The spark plug can be said to be an important part of the engine's ignition system, so some friends ask, what is the matter with the oil in the spark plug, should I just replace the spark plug directly? In fact, the problem of oil can be divided into many situations, and it is not necessary to replace the spark plug. Let's analyze it in detail below.

First of all, the spark plug has oil stains. The most common reason is the aging of the valve cover gasket. This component seals the engine lubricating oil. When it ages, naturally there will be lubricating oil on the spark plug. The second is the quality problem of the spark plug (clearance misalignment or short circuit), and the oil dirt enters from the thread, and a new spark plug needs to be replaced. However, if there is oiliness between the top of the spark plug and the electrode, it means that the cylinder is leaking oil, which has nothing to do with the spark plug.

It is worth mentioning that if you need a spark plug, you must choose the calorific value that matches your own car model, otherwise it will easily affect the output of the engine, and it is even possible that the spark plug is directly scrapped. For example, the original calorific value of the car itself is 7, and it is accidentally replaced with a piston with a calorific value of 4 when replacing it. This will not have good resistance (high temperature). If the engine continues to run at high speed At that time, the spark plug is easily burnt due to insufficient heat dissipation.
