The internal resistance of the battery is an important indicator used to evaluate the battery condition, although it cannot be used alone. The battery voltage and the ability to provide current should be combined with its internal resistance, so that the battery can be diagnosed more appropriately. The resistance values of batteries of different voltages and capacities are different during the period. The batteries have their own nominal internal resistance values when they leave the factory. Lead-acid batteries are usually 2V, 6V, 12V, and their internal resistance values are different, and the internal resistance values are different for different capacities. Of course, even two batteries with the same voltage and the same capacity will have a difference in resistance during the period, but the difference is very small.

The internal resistance of the battery cannot be used

The internal resistance of the battery can’t be used depends on the actual time of use. It is a fluctuating range value and needs to be measured with a professional instrument. For example, the internal resistance of 12v100A must be below 4.5 milliohms. The internal resistance of the 12v38A battery is below 8 milliohms. If it is greater than 8 milliohms, you need to consider replacing it, otherwise it may affect the driving of the car later.

Internal resistance testers are relatively common in the market for testing internal resistance. There are many types of internal resistance testers on the market, ranging from hundreds to tens of thousands. When choosing an internal resistance tester, you should pay attention to its test method. Some are just a reference value, it is impossible to really measure the internal resistance of the battery. The instrument calculates a reference value based on the set battery voltage and capacity, which is not the real internal resistance measured. The discrimination accuracy can test a quasi-constant resistance.
